This April, a manufacturer of counterfeit NSK branded shipping cartons in Linqing City, Shandong Province, China, was busted through a joint operation between the Guan County Public Security Bureau and the Guan County Beitao Town Police Station.
In March 2026, the World Bearing Association (WBA) conducted a series of industry awareness and brand enforcement training visits across Vietnam and Thailand, meeting with government authorities to reinforce cooperation on anti-counterfeiting efforts and advance the fight against fake bearings in the region. The full delegation of representatives of the six WBA member companies, led by Koichi Uchida of NSK, participated in all visit activities, which was organized by WBA Secretariat JBIA.
In March 2024, JTEKT Corporation and the Thai subsidiary of JTEKT, in the cooperation with the Economic Crime Suppression Division of the Royal Thai Police (ECD), the Department of Intellectual Property Department (DIP), and the World Bearing Association (WBA), successfully cracked down on a large number of counterfeit bearings in Thailand. The criminal proceedings in this case and the settlement with the counterfeiters were concluded in June 2025.
