JTEKT’s 2017 Anti-Counterfeiting Efforts Successful in Taiwan and The Philippines

In 2017 JTEKT continued its aggressive measures of identifying and seizing counterfeit goods with great success.

In Taiwan JTEKT successfully defended the Koyo brand name by settling a lawsuit with a company found to be infringing on the Koyo brand name. Although the settlement details are private it includes a cease and desist of improper use of the Koyo brand name, financial compensation, and a public apology.

JTEKT also successfully executed two raids in the Philippines covering 36 locations in 7 cities. Seizing over 70,000 counterfeit bearings with a value of over 30 million JPY the raids were covered by local media and various social media channels.

The company will use its recent successes as tools to further combat the production and sale of counterfeit bearings. JTEKT remains committed to supporting the WBA in its global efforts to stop counterfeit bearings.
