JTEKT’s 2018 Successfully Expands Anti-Counterfeiting Efforts to Thailand, Chile, and China

In 2018 JTEKT continued its aggressive activity of identifying and seizing counterfeit goods throughout the world with continued success. In China two raids were conducted. One in June in Beijing and the other in October in Jiangxi. The raids resulted in the seizure and destruction of a number of counterfeit bearings as well as ongoing criminal proceedings in Jiangxi. After obtaining customs registration in Chile more than 1,400 counterfeit Koyo brand bearings in various sizes were seized and destroyed. As of August 2018, JTEKT has been working tirelessly to identify counterfeit bearings in Vietnam.
Finally, in Thailand JTEKT successfully distributed communication materials calling attention to the risks involved in producing and distributing counterfeit bearings. JTEKT remains committed to supporting the WBA in its global efforts to stop counterfeit bearings.
